Our teams are often surprised by their encounters with Costa Rican wildlife during their tours.

Did you Know?

  • There are around 14,000 species of butterflies in Costa Rica
  • Green iguanas can be up to 6.5 feet long and can weigh up to 33 pounds
  • Turtles travel hundreds to thousands of miles and return to the same place were they themselves were hatched to do some nesting of their own

Monkeys: listen to the sounds of the most common species in Costa Rica.

Green iguanas: They can be up to 6.5 feet long and can weigh up to 33 pounds.

Toucan: Costa Rica has six of the 42 species of toucans.

Crocodiles: Around 2,000 American crocodiles live in the Tárcoles River

Sloth : Costa Rica has 2 and 3 - toed sloths, which sleep an average of 18 hours a day.

Green Tree Frog: There are more than 100 species of exotic frogs in Costa Rica.
